The criteria for advertising a litter ad is a CBRCC membership in good standing (see below). Litters advertised must include health status certificates from recognized canine health agencies. This would include OFA, CERF, and Optigen evaluations for such health factors as hips, elbows, eyes, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) and Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC). The publishing of puppy ads does not imply endorsement by CBRCC and the club reserves the right to refuse to advertise a litter that knowingly will produce “at risk” congenital defects for PRA and EIC. Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) is an emerging genetic problem in the Chesapeake breed and as such, ads should include the DM status of breeding stock to be considered by buyers in evaluating proposed litters.
